Broadcom list pricing via partner channel. vSphere Standard: ~$50/core/yr. vSphere Enterprise Plus: ~$150/core/yr. VVF: average $135/core/yr (market range $150–190/core/yr). VCF: $350/core/yr. The 72-core minimum was introduced April 2025, partially reversed for renewals, and still applies to new orders and tier changes. New perpetual licenses are no longer sold; existing perpetual licenses with active SnS are still honored.
Proxmox VE
Community subscription: free (AGPL open source, community repository). Paid subscriptions are per physical CPU socket: Basic ~€355/socket/yr (~$390), Standard ~€500/socket/yr (~$540), Premium ~€1,060/socket/yr (~$1,160). No per-core or per-VM licensing. Ceph storage software is free; only hardware costs apply.
Nutanix AHV
AHV hypervisor: free with any Nutanix license. NCI is licensed per physical CPU core; community reports cluster around ~$300/core/yr before discounts and add-ons. This calculator models NCI on physical cores, not per-node pricing.
Microsoft Hyper-V
WS2025 Standard: $1,069/2-core pack, min 16 cores/server. Datacenter: $7,407/16-core + $463/additional 2-core pack. Shown as 3-yr amortized. CALs ($38/user or $19/device) are NOT included but are required.
